Superprestigio Arnedo XCO - UCI C1

After the last race the trainings went well. Just a little sad that my new bike still has not arrived, complicated times in the bike industry at the moment to get things. But soon-soon it should arrive.

After long drive on Friday we still had a time to go pedal on the local roads, to get the body moving after long sit.

On Saturday to the course, it was interesting and lots to do, but also quite long sections were there was no passing possibility. But I felt that I could do a good race. Here is a LINK to the course video from training.

Saturday night the dinner was a bit late and I still had full stomach sensation when I felt my eyelids starting to close. And the knowing of time change for less one hour. It has happend plenty of times that I have difficulties to fall asleep before race, and I have searched for help and tried different techniques, but I think a lot is to do with the personality I have and the unhealthy treatment I got when I was a child in the first racing years. The wounds heal but the scars remain. I was up more than half the night, head empty but some click somehere inside me preventing the last relaxation to sleep. I got some 3-4 hours finally.

So on race day I gave what I got, but I didnt feel fresh. I made a mistake too, I trusted the organizers to count us the laps, it was a C1 international race, but no numbers shown, no ring was ringed. So I was in the uncertainty in the final lap, as by the time I figured we have still one to go, and I lost the fighting position for two spots and almost the third, but I rolled just half the wheel in front on the line.

There was a funny thing also in the race, I was racing quite a lot with the girl that was called Esti, and it so appeared as Eesti (Estonia in Estonian) as we were very close racing with Mari-Liis as well. And sometimes it seemed they call hästi (which means good, well done in Estonian) so it was curious for the mind.

Now back to trainings so the good days could be better and the bad days could be better.

Thank you all the supporters and cheerers!
