Nädal oli suuremast treeningmahust prii ja täpselt sobis sinna Portugali mäestlaskumise karikasarja etapp, kuna sel aastal otsustasin rohkem xc rattal hästi sõita, siis trenni polnud ma teinud oma DH rattal, eelmise aasta lõpus ostsin ühe vana ratta oma auhinnarahade eest, oli heas korras ja maksis 550 eurot, leidsin et ehk tasub investeering ära, saab vahest mäest kiiremini alla sõita ja nüüd Tarouca võistlus oli ka esimene ametlik, kus sain oma eesti meistri särki kanda, ja kuna UCI võistlus siis ka auhinnarahade peale sõita.
Laupäeval oli ilus ilm ja avanes see imeline vaade sealt Santa Helena kabeli juurest, ikkagi 1102m kõrgusel. Rada oli põhimõtteliselt sama, mida olin juba sõitnud, kuid kuna trenni polnud teinud, siis ei hakanud riskima ja suuremaid hüppeid, mida olen juba teinud, ei hakanud sel korral proovimagi. Sõitsin kindla peale ja hüppasin neid hüppeid, kus olin kindel endas ja vahva olemine.
Laupäeva õhtupoolikul läksin veel väikesele maantee tiirule, olin ratta kaasa võtnud, tegin sellise turisti tiiru, lisan ka siia pilte, kuhu jõudsin.
Pühapäeva hommikul oli hall ja sadas vihma, või ehk et olime koguaeg pilve sees. Hommikul treeninglaskumine, tundsin, et käed ja keha on treeningsõitudest väsinud, tegin laskumise peatustega, et jõudu säästa. Rada palju märjem muidugi kui eelmisel päeval. Siis väike ootepaus ja kvalifikatsioonisõit, kindla peale ja ilma paari pedaalipöördeta, mis siia-sinna ikka rajale mahub. Siis pikem ootepaus (kuna ilm kehvake siis need pausid möödusid autos istudes) ja finaalisõit. Lisasin need paar pedaalipööret ja olin õnnelikult all, tervena ja rõõmsana. Tasuks pjedestaali teine koht.
Kuigi ajaliselt väga kaua rattal ei olnud, siis nendest laskumistest piisab, et keha läbiklopitud tunde saavutaks ja ilm aitas ka väsimusele kaasa.
Super rahul oma nädalavahetusega ja nüüd veel paar nädalat trenni koos paari treeningvõistlusega ja saab EMV kihutada.

The week was free of big training load, so the Portugal DHI cup race fitted perfectly, as this year I decided to be fast on my xc bike, then I had not made any training on my dh bike, I bought an old bike last year with my prize money savings, it was in good conditions and cost me 550 euros, so I thought its a good investment, for have the chance to ride a bike faster once in awhile. This Tarouca race was also first oficial race to wear my national champ jersey and to race for some prize money.
Saturday the day was nice, the view from top of Santa Helena chapel was amazing as always, it is 1102m high. The track was basically the same that I had already ridden year before, as I have not been training on dh, so I didnt do the big jumps, that I have already done in the past. I went for the smaller ones which I was sure on and had some fun.
On Saturday evening I additionally went for a road spin, had taken my bike with me, was kind of a turist trip, I show some photos here from it as well.
Sunday was grey and it was raining, or was it that we were always inside a cloud. Morning one training run, I felt my hands and body sore from the trainings , I did the ride with stops to save some energy. The track was of course much more damp than before. Then a waiting pause and qualification run, I went safe and without some pedal strokes that now and then fit into the track. Then a bigger waiting pause (as the weather was as it was then these pauses were spent in the car) and the final run. I added the few pedal strokes and was happily at the finish line, in one piece and contente. Rewarded with second place of the podium. Although not that much time spent on the bike, it is enough to have the body all beaten up and the weather increased the tiredness.
I am super happy with my weekend and now few more good training weeks with some training races and then full gas on the national xc champs.
