Esmaspäeval, kui hakkasin asju autosse pakkima, tundus päris võimatu, et kõik kompsud kaasa mahuvad, aga mahtusid kõik – kolm ratast ja vähemalt mingi 8 suuremapoolset kompsu, pluss veel igast jama.
Paadireis läks hästi, kuigi oli tugev tuul, siis väga ei kõigutanud, pigem ei saanud ma magada äramagatud madratsi tõttu.
Teisipäeva hommikul hakkas siis autoreis, kuna meid oli kaks autot, siis aidati ka mind roolimisega. St. Etienne´i jõudsime kolmapäeva hommikul, mingi kümne paiku, autos olin magada saanud heal juhul kaks tundi. Kuigi auto oli ärapakitud, siis tahtsime Greetega ka teistega koos sõitma minna ja pakkisime asjad lahti. Sõit sõidetud, siis pakkisime jälle kokku, kusjuures asjad mahtusid isegi paremini ära. Kolmapäeva õhtul küll mõtlesime, et jube reis on veel ees, kuid ei olnudki nii hull. Startisime neljapäeval koos teise autoga, sain kõrvalsõitja olla kuni Narbonne´ini, siis võtsin rooli üle ja sõitsime omapäi edasi. Tavalise kaardiga saime väga hästi hakkama, kuna autol oli vaid selle umbes 1400 km peale vaja vaid ühe korra tanklas käia, siis isegi rohkem peatusi ei teinud.
Algul oli plaanis isegi väike uinak, aga peale Hispaaniasse jõudmist ei olnud peaaegu et üldse liiklust ja ilm hea, siis põrutasin jutti. Muidugi Portugali piiri peal tundsin, et olen täitsa läbi omadega, seal lõppes paariks kilomeetriks kiirekas ära ja pidi läbi piirilinna sõitma, ega väga reaktsiooni ei olnud, õnneks võtsin rahulikult, kuna politseid märkasin alles siis, kui mööda sõitsin. Siis jälle kiirekal, hakkas sadama, vahepeal päris padukat, võtsin rahulikult. Täiesti mälu järgi sõitsin kiirekalt maha ja leidsin õige ristmiku üles, kust ära keerata, kui Ricardole helistasin, oli ta ikka väga üllatunud kuuldes, et oleme ukse taga. Loomulikult olin täiesti läbi autosõidust, autost välja astudes arvasin, et kukun pikali, jalad ei tahtnud kanda.
Esimese öö magasime külas, reedel tahtsime juba väga näha korterit, kus elama hakkame. Ootasin midagi palju väiksemat, kui korterisse astusin oli üllatus suur, kolme magamistoaga (üks on hetkel siis niiöelda telekatuba) ja suur-suur köök. Garaaz on meil samuti.
Laupäev-pühapäev oleme teinud paar pikemat trenni, ilm on super, eriti kui päike väljas, siis on ikka täitsa mõnus, selline Eesti aprill-mai. Päris hea on ka trenni valida, ühele poole välja sõites saab mägesid sõita ja ranniku poole sõites on siledam, väga mõnus. Hetkel ei oskagi midagi paremat tahta!
When I started to pack up the car for the trip on Monday, then it seemed impossible to fit all the stuff in it, but it all did – three bikes, at least 8 bags, plus some more little things.
The boat trip went well, the wind was quite stormy, but it did not rock the boat too much, I had more trouble with the worn madrats to sleep well.
On Tuesday morning the car drive could begin, as we were two cars, then I got help with the driving. We arrived to St. Etienne on Wednesday morning about ten, I had slept barely two hours during the drive. We had the car all packed up, but we still wanted to go for a ride with the guys, so we unpacked it. After the ride we packed it again, and all the stuff fitted even better than it did before. Together with Greete we thought that the next day´s drive will be awful, but it was not too bad. We started with the other car on Thurday morning, I got to be on passenger side until Narbonne, then we said bye to others and we were off alone. With usual map is was all good and as the car needed just one gas station stop in some 1400 km, then we didnt stop more.
First I planned even a little nap during the drive, but I managed perfectly, after entering Spain there was almost no traffic and the weather was great, so I just gave gas. On the Portuguese border I felt that I was totally exhausted, there we had some kilometers without highway and I could feel that I have poor reaction, luckily I took the village easy, because I noticed the police car just when I was passing it. Then back on the highway, it started to rain, quite heavily, I took it easy. From memory I took the right exit and even found the right crossing to Ricardo´s house. When I called him, he was totally surprised to hear that we are behind his house. Of course I was dead, when I stepped outside the car I thought I will fall down, the legs did want to support me.
We spent the first night at his house, on Friday we were eager to see where we will live. I expected something way smaller, so I was so surprised when I walked in the appartment, it has three bedrooms (one is now so called tv room), huge kitchen and we even have a garage.
Saturday-Sunday we did some longer rides, the weather is super, especially when the sun is out, somewhat like April-May in Estonia. Also its nice to choose the profile for training, one side is more hilly and the coast side is flat, really nice. Right now all is just perfect!
