Päev algas vara ja ka jahedalt siin üleval mäe otsas (merepinnast üle 1500 m), termomeeter näitas 6,5 kraadi, rada oli hommikupäikese eest varjus, seega oli kaste maas ja rohi märg.
XCE rada oli lahe, stardipukist alla ja kohe paarikümnemeetri pärast seinaga kurv vasakule, siis hüpe ja kurv valliga paremale, siis mõned palgid, kvalifikatsioonis läks siis kohe puusillale, kiirusega tulles tuli päris hea hüpe, hiljem finaalideks tehti paar kurvi rohu peal juurde, kuna üks naine kukkus end haiglasse seal hüppes, kvalifikatsiooni võistlus oli tunniks kinni, kuni ta saadi helikopteriga haiglasse toimetatud, mina olin selleks ajaks juba hotellis puhkamas. Peale puusilda, oli pikk sirge, siis kurv väikse hüppega, kiviaed, veel üks puusild, veel mõned kivid, tagasipöörde kurv ja finishisirge.
Kvalifikatsioon läks hästi, natuke tundsin, et keha veel külm, hiljem võtsin pika dusi, et varbad ära sulaksid :D ja tukastasin enne lõunasööki.
Finaalide ajaks oli ilm soe ja rada kuiv. Finaali said kõik naised, kvalifikatsioon pani paika, kes kellega. Mina sain 16. aja, läksin starti koos number 1 ja 17. Esimeses kurvis olin teine number 1 taga ja järgmisega vahe hüpetel kasvas, seega saime rahulikumalt finishi poole sõita. Seega olin top 16 seas! :)
Järgmine start oli juba nagu peab nelja sõitjaga, number 1, 8 , 9 olid minuga. Stardipukist sain sirgele viimasena, lõikasin seinaga kurvi sirgemaks ja seinale ei läinud, seega võitsin ühe koha, ees keegi vigu ei teinud ja viimasel sirgel oli veel kõik võimalik, kuid nii jäi, number 1 ja 8 said edasi, ma olin sõidu kolmas. Olen sõiduga rahul ! :) Ja tulemuseks sain Meribeli MK-etapil XCE sõidus 12. koha!
Day started early and cool up here in the mountain (more than 1500 m above seal evel), it showed 6,5 degrees, the track was hidden from the morning sun, so it was damp and slippery grass.
XCE course was fun, from start ramp to a wall ride curve left, then jump, smaller wall ride curve right, then some logs, in quali the track went then straight to a wooden bridge, with speed you could get a big jump, one girl crashed hard and the quali was stopped for an hour until she was taken to the hospital with the helicopter, so in finals they made some extra curves on grass to take the speed out, then after the bridge longer straight, turn with a jump to the left, rock garden, another wooden bridge, more stones, and back turn to the finish line.
Qualification went well, I could feel that my body was still cold, after I took a long hot shower to melt my toes :D and took a nap before lunch.
For the finals the day was warm and track dry. All women qualified, it was just to see who goes with who. I got 16th time, so I started with numbers 1 and 17. After first curve I was second behind the number 1 and with the next one the gap grew a little with the jumps, so we had a bit easier way to finish. I was in top 16! :)
Next start was already with 4 riders as it should, numbers 1, 8, 9 with me. I was the last one after the start ramp and decided to cut the wall ride curve inside without going to the wall, so I put myself into 3 position, no one made any mistakes in front and in the last straight all was possible, but the positions didnt change, numbers 1 and 8 got through, I was the third in the run. I am happy with my race! :) And my result for Meribel World Cup in XCE is 12th!
