Portugal MTB tour 2017

Proloog – rada oli päris palju maastikul, ainult esimene tõus-laskumine, mis läks üles Viseu katedraali juurde oli kivil. Sõit sujus meil hästi, tegime vahetustega ja pingutus korralik. Finishis oli hea meel teada saada, et saime endale liidrisärgid.

Liidrid 28 sekundiga.

1.etapp – teadsin, et ei saa kerge mulle olema, kuna alati peale xco võistlust on teine päev kehale kõige raskem, aga õnneks sellist hullu kangi ei tulnud nagu eelmine aasta. Samas kuskil poolel maal oli Greete rattal probleem, tagumine jooks kaheksas, üks kodar oli alla andnud, õnneks ei seganud sõitu. Aga siis hakkasime kuulma mingit kolinat, mul oli tõsine deja-vu tunne, mõtlesin kas tõesti ei saa ma seda tuuri ilma tehniliste probleemideta sõidetud! Kolin muutus aina hullemaks ja ühel hetkel jäi Greete seisma ja võttis sadula kätte, no vot see oli siis see kolin, õnneks ühtegi juppi ära ei jõudnud kaduda ja ma sain sadula peale rahunemist tagasi paigale keeratud.

Jäime särkidest ilma, aga teadsin, et kõige hullem päev enesetunde poole pealt on mul läbitud ja nüüd saab ainult paremaks minna. Andre Goingbikest tuli meile appi ja saime ka Greetele uue jooksu alla ja sadula korralikult paika.

2. etapp – algusest kohe oli väga hea vahelduv rada, üles-alla, kohe andis lisaenergiat kui rada selline mõnus. Saime teistelt eest ära, sõitsime pea kogu sõidu koos esimese segapaariga, lõpus libisesid käest, kus hakkas juba tundma andma ka kuumus. Palav ilm ja palju oli tõusu täiesti lagedal mäenõlval.

3. etapp – mägede etapp. Raske etapp nii füüsiliselt kui vaimselt. Samas väljusime võitjatena, raske oli aga tahtmine suur. Enamus etapist sõitsime koos liidripaariga, koos meiega oli ka segapaar. Kord olime eest, kord said nemad eest, siis saime taaskord kätte ja viimasel kolmandikul suutsime lahti rebida ja punnitasime kuidas suutsime lõpuni.

4. etapp – xco sõidu moodi etapp,3x10 km. Kuidagi värske tunne oli, või oli see ehk sellest et mulle xco südamelähedane, igastahes oli mul kuidagi nii palju jalas, Greetel oli raskem, nii palju kui sain oli talle abiks ja saime selle lühikese etapiga ühele poole. Isegi kasvatasime natuke liidriseisu!

5. etapp – kõige tehnilisem etapp, mul taaskord oli päris hea tunne, kõige suurem hirm oli ehk et võime tehniliste probleemidega võidu käest kaotada, kuid kõik läks hästi ja olime teistest ikkagi nii palju üle. Midagi kindlat muidugi ei saanud enne viimast kilomeetrit mõelda.

Selline pingelangus, et mul ei jõudnud rõõm kohale, vaid väsimus jõudis kohale.

Üliraske kuid samas ülivinge - kogu kogemus, korraldus oli ülisuper ja kogu õhkkond fantastiline, nii kohtunike, korraldajate kui võistlejate vahel .

Prologue – course was very much offroad, just the first up to the Viseu cathedrale and down was on road. The race went well, we made good switches and nice tempo. It was great to get the leader jerseys.

Leaders with 28 seconds.

1. stage – I knew this will be the worse day for me, as it was the second day after a xco race. Luckily I didn’t die as much as I did the year before, but it was super hard. Somewhere in the middle of the race Greete bike had trouble, one spoke of back wheel broke and the wheel was going side to side but still could ride it. Then we started to hear some funny noise, as kms passed it went worse, I already was thinking really, its like deja-vu with the pass year with all the technical problems! Then at one point Greete stopped and the saddle came off! Luckily all pieces still there and after calming I screwed it back on.

We lost the jersey, but I knew now the worse day for me is over and it can only go better from now on, the feeling at least. Andre from Goingbike came to help and after the stage we could fix all the problems on the bike of Greete.

2. stage – from the beginning the track was very nice, up and down, the fun track gave me extra energy. We got a gap with others, almost all the race we were riding with the first mixed pair, only lost them at the end, the heat also started to kick in, all day was hot and lots of climbing on open mountain side.

3. stage – queen stage. It was hard physically and mentally. But we made it, it was tough but we were tougher. Most of the race we were somewhere with the leader pair and with us also the mixed pair. At times leaders got away then we got away then they caught us again, but at the last third we got a gap and could hold it!

We got the jerseys back!

4. stage – xco type of day, 3x10km. I had surprisingly fresh legs or maybe it was from the xco track, but either way I had somehow so good legs. Greete had a tough day and I help how I could, and the short day finished. With the general classification we even won a bit time!

5. stage – the most technical track, I had once again good legs, my biggest fear was to lose the race with some technical problems, but all went well and we had so much better day than others. Of course nothing was certain before the last kilometer.

Wuhuuu! We won!

I had so big stress relief, the joy didn’t get me, the tiredness got me.

It was super tough, but super cool experience, the organization was fantastic and all the atmosphere of the race , between commissaries, organizers, riders – fantastic!

Mitte just liiga palju naiskondi, kuid esimeste tase oli hea! Võrreldes osasid tõuse, mis olid sees ka eelmine aasta, oli tempo kiirem!
Not too many women pairs, but the competition was good! Comparing the climbing times that was also in last year, the times were faster!
